Wood FlooringBurnley & Blackburn

Engineered, solid and laminate wood floors — beautiful natural finishes at prices that make sense.

Why choose us for wood flooring

Wood flooring is one of those things that's easy to get wrong — wrong board thickness, wrong expansion gaps, wrong underlay, and three years later you've got cupping and gaps. We've been fitting wood floors in East Lancashire stone terraces, new-build semis and Victorian end-of-terraces for years, so we know which boards survive in which sub-floors. We stock engineered oak in plank and herringbone, solid oak for the purists, and click-lock laminate for anyone who wants the look on a budget.

A typical wood flooring job

Typical job: Victorian two-up-two-down in Accrington, old quarry tiles gone, concrete subfloor, customer wants a real-wood look in the lounge-diner. We spec a 14mm engineered oak plank with an acoustic underlay, fit a fibreboard to level the dips, and lay it in a herringbone pattern with proper expansion gaps around the chimney breast. Three days on site, and the room suddenly feels twice the size.

What we offer

Engineered oak

Real oak top layer on a stable multi-ply base. Safe over underfloor heating, less prone to movement than solid.

Solid hardwood

Full-thickness oak and walnut boards for that proper traditional finish. Sandable and refinishable for decades.

Premium laminate

High-definition laminate that looks genuinely like wood, with click-lock systems you can lay over existing floors.

Herringbone & plank

Both formats stocked — classic wide plank for farmhouse feel, or herringbone for a smarter, more designed look.

Questions we get asked

Can wood flooring go in a kitchen or bathroom?
Engineered wood and laminate can handle a kitchen if you're careful with spills. For bathrooms we'd push you towards LVT or vinyl — wood and standing water aren't a long-term friendship.
Is wood flooring compatible with underfloor heating?
Engineered wood is, solid wood isn't really. We'll ask about your heating set-up before we quote, and point you at the right product.
How long does wood flooring take to fit?
An average lounge is a day on site. Bigger open-plan spaces or herringbone patterns take two or three. We let the boards acclimatise for 48 hours before fitting, so factor that in.
Do I need to remove doors or skirting?
We undercut architraves and skirtings where possible so no removal is needed. Doors sometimes need trimming — we do that on site.
